The Bass Pro Shops retail attraction will be the lead tenant in a mixed-use one-million-square-foot Marketplace at Boston Heights development. The project includes 350,000-sqare-feet of retail. The projected opening date for the new 100,000-plus-square-foot Bass Pro Shops store will be summer 2016.
"We are very grateful for the opportunity to be the lead anchor tenant for this exciting new development," said Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops. "Our mega outdoor store will be a tribute to the great sporting tradition and heritage of the Great Lakes region and a celebration of the sporting men and women of Ohio."
The Marketplace at Boston Heights consists of a total of 167 acres, which includes 65 acres of retail development in the heart of the Village of Boston Heights. Located at the crossroads of Interstate 80 and State Route 8, the mixed-use-project is conveniently situated between Akron and Cleveland. The site is just east of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which provides walking and riding trails and opportunities to enjoy native plants and wildlife.
"My partner, Al Scott, and I are pleased to welcome Bass Pro Shops to the Marketplace at Boston Heights," said Sam Petros of Petros Development Corporation. "They, along with seven other retailers, will be serving the Cleveland-Akron market through our new retail location where I-271, Route 8 and the turnpike meet," Petros said.

"This village government, along with an incredible amount of resident participation, spent years developing a detailed comprehensive plan to protect residents' interests. The village couldn't have found a more perfect fit to our comprehensive plan than Bass Pro Shops," Polyak said.
