Topwater has always been a popular fishing method amongst anglers. Running a topwater frog down the edge of a weed line or between Lily pads is going to increase your odds of landing a Bass on topwater. These Bass love to sit around ambush points and wait for a frog to swim by for an easy meal.

A few simple steps to ensure a good hookup might land you the fish of a lifetime rather than just another fish story.
1. Make sure you are using the right size hook for your plastic lure. (4/0,5/0) Eztra Wide Gap.
2. Make sure you beef up your gear so if the fish strikes near cover your odds of breaking off are low. 40-60lb braided line no leader works best.
3. Use a Baitcaster (if possible) a high gear ratio will ensure the fish will get to the side of the boat faster paired up with a MH to H action rod 7′-8′.
